Introduction

Welcome to the Discipleship Training Course "Come...Follow Me".

First, a word of warning! If you have not yet made any commitment to Jesus, you will find that these lessons are impossible for you. You will not be able to grasp the spiritual dimensions that will be considered. The Bible tells us a truth when it says in 1 Corinthians 2:14..."But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned."

The only way to understand the things of God is to be born again. That means your spirit, which has been "dead", comes alive and is able to recognise the Spirit of God. You cannot do this by yourself. It is God's work to give you "birth". If you would like to know more, go and talk to a Christian who knows God as Father and that person will lead you to Jesus.

If you have met Jesus and responded to Him by giving your life over to Him and making Him your Lord, this course is for you. If you do know Jesus at some time in your experience with Him you will have asked yourself the question "Lord, what do you want me to do?" His first answer to you will be "Come...Follow Me."

In these lessons you will discover how deep the relationship is that Jesus has with you by laying down in your mind the principles of spiritual life. In the first part of the course, lessons 1 - 12, we will see the nature of the family bond that we have with God, Our Father.

The second series of lessons (nos.13-24) deals with the "first principles of the oracles of God" (See Hebrews 5:12), meaning the foundations of effective and fruitful living as a disciple of the Lord.
