Lesson 6a: Facts of the Word Concerning Salvation
Knowing who I am in Christ Jesus.
1. I possess new life.
I have everlasting life...
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
God has poured His love into my heart...
Romans 5:5 "Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us."
His Spirit bears witness with my spirit...
Romans 8:16 "The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,"
I have the mind of Christ...
1 Corinthians 2:16 "For "who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?" But we have the mind of Christ."
My body is the Holy Spirit's dwelling place...
1 Corinthians 6:19 "Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have
His gifts are available to me...
1 Corinthians 12:4, 11 "There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills."
I have His seal of ownership in my heart...
2 Corinthians 1:22 "who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee."
I have been redeemed from the curse of the law...
Galatians 3:13 "Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree")
I have been sealed by the Holy Spirit...
Ephesians 1:13-14 "In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory."
I have been made alive in Christ...
Colossians 2:13 "And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses,"
I am being renewed in the Holy Spirit...
Titus 3:5 "not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,"
I have been born again of the Word of God...
1 Peter 1:23 "having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,"
I have been forgiven and washed clean by the blood of Jesus...
1 John 1:7-9 "But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us
I am born of God...
1 John 2:29 "If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him."
2. My new relationship with God.
I have the right to become a child of God...
John 1:12 "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:"
Romans 8:16 "The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,"
I know the Only True God...
John 17:3 "And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent."
I have peace with God...
Romans 5:1 "Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,"
I am reconciled to God...
Romans 5:10 "For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life."
I am His son and heir...
Romans 8:15 "For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father."
Romans 8:17 "and if children, then heirs; heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together."
I am Christ's possession...
1 Corinthians 3:23 "And you are Christ's, and Christ is God's."
I am qualified to share in His inheritance...
Colossians 1:12 "giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light."
I belong to God...
1 Peter 2:9 "But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvellous light;"
I share in the divine nature of God...
2 Peter 1:4 "by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust."
3. I am set free from sin.
I am set free from bondage...
John 8:31-36 "Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." They answered Him, "We are Abraham's descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can you say, 'You will be made free'?" Jesus answered them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. "
I am set free from sin...
Romans 6:18 "And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness."
I am no longer under condemnation...
Romans 8:1 "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit."
I am being transformed into His likeness...
2 Corinthians 3:18 "But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord."
I am a new creation...
2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."
I am crucified with Christ...
Galatians 2:20 "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me."
I am accepted by the Father...
Ephesians 1:6 "to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He has made us accepted in the Beloved."
I am alive in Christ...
Ephesians 2:5 "even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),"
I am a member of God's household...
Ephesians 2:19 "Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God,"
I can approach the Father in freedom...
Ephesians 3:12 "in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him."
I can be confident that what has begun in me will be finished...
Philippians 1:6 "being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;"
I will set my mind upon what the Spirit desires...
Romans 8:5-6 "For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. "
I have been saved from the consequences of sin...
Romans 10:13 "For "whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved."
I have been made righteous and holy...
1 Corinthians 1:30 "But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God; and righteousness and sanctification and redemption;"
I am washed, sanctified and justified...
1 Corinthians 6:11 "And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God."
I am redeemed...
Ephesians 1:7 "In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace"
I no longer live gratifying my sinful nature and am not an object of wrath...
Ephesians 2:3 "among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others."
I have been saved by grace through faith...
Ephesians 2:8 "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,"
I am complete in Christ...
Colossians 2:10 "and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power."
My nature is changed...
Colossians 3:9-10 "Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him,"
I have been cleansed from a guilty conscience...
Hebrews 10:22 "let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water."
I have been healed...I have died to sin and live to righteousness...
1 Peter 2:24 "who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness; by whose stripes you were healed."
I have been cleansed from passed sin...
2 Peter 1:9 "For he who lacks these things is short-sighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed
4. I am set apart in the world.
I am more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ...
Romans 8:37 "Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us."
I am an ambassador for Christ...
2 Corinthians 5:20 "Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God."
I live by faith in the Son of God...
Galatians 2:20 "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me."
I have been crucified to the world...
Galatians 6:14 "But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world."
I have been raised up with Christ and seated in heavenly places...
Ephesians 2:6 "and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
I am a fellow-citizen with God's people and belong to God's household...
Ephesians 2:19 "Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God,"
I have been rescued from darkness and brought into the kingdom of Jesus...
Colossians 1:13 "He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,"
I have been given the hope of glory...
Colossians 1:27 "To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory."
I have overcome the world...
1 John 5:4-5 "For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world; our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? "
